Overview
India's road network is one of the largest in the world, with over 5.5 million kilometers of roads. Road transport is the primary mode of transportation for passengers and freight, with over 90% of passenger traffic and 60% of freight traffic being carried on roads. The motor vehicle industry contributes significantly to India's economy, accounting for nearly 4.7% of the country's GDP.
The sector is undergoing a paradigm shift, and the global movement towards electric vehicles can address the negative externalities like environmental degradation, air pollution, congestion, accidents, and noise pollution. Research by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) shows that electric vehicles (EVs) offer the best solution to meet climate and public health goals. India must be included in the global transition from internal combustion engines (ICE) to EVs because it must meet its commitment of going net zero by 2070, besides improving city air quality. And that's not all; India will lose global competitiveness if it is not a leader in this transition.
India EV Conclave 2024 will be one of a kind congregation of stakeholders of the Electric Mobility Ecosystem including Vehicle & Battery Manufacturers, Charging Equipment Manufacturers & Charge Point Operators, Powertrain & Component Manufacturers, Power Generation & Distribution companies, the Government, and Customers. The Conclave will witness deliberations to unlock India's latent EV potential in the areas of Product innovation, Component manufacturing, Charging Infrastructure and Swapping solutions, After-sales service, Supplier capabilities, Government Incentives & Policy adoption, Pollution targets and Customer awareness. It will provide many networking opportunities for Knowledge transition and business in a congenial atmosphere.
